Rochester Museum & Science Center Preschool
Now accepting 2017–2018 applications! Our unique preschool offers hands-on experiences and age-appropriate activities for children ages three, four, and five.
Early Childhood Program
We are proud to be Rochester's premier museum-based preschool! Over 4,000 Rochester-area children have attended our preschool over the last 40 years, enjoying a child-centered, developmentally appropriate program facilitated by a warm and caring staff. We work closely with parents to serve the best interest of every child and family.
Our curriculum provides unique educational experiences, which enhance a traditional preschool program. We take advantage of the exhibits, collections, and resources of the entire RMSC. On-site visits to the Rochester Museum, Strasenburgh Planetarium, and Cumming Nature Center in the Bristol Hills are an integral part of the program.
The curriculum stimulates exploration and encourages problem-solving skills, creativity, and social and emotional growth. Our preschoolers are exposed to a variety of experiences that enhance their understanding of the world around them. Their teachers accept them as individuals and encourage each child to progress at their own pace, laying the foundation for language and math acquisition and beginning academic skills.
If you are considering enrolling your child, please call the Head of Preschool 585.697.1949 to have your questions answered or to schedule a tour.
