Maypole Celebration

Maypole Celebration

Saturday, April 29: 10am–12pm

At this special family program, learn the traditional Maypole dance and make a May basket for someone you love.

Wear your fun springtime clothes, perhaps with a European vintage outdoor flair like flowing dresses and hair ribbons. The maypole celebration is a tradition originally from Germany, England and Sweden, though no one knows for sure how far back maypole dancing dates.

Bring a bag lunch for a picnic after the festivities. Hiking is also available on the six miles of trails complete with wetlands and forest.

Cost:

$5 per person / $15 per family
