Volunteer at Cumming Nature Center

Volunteers are an essential part of Cumming Nature Center. Enjoy the great outdoors while also improving your college application or resume, strengthening the community and learning new things about the world around you. Visitor Welcome Team: Greet guests as they enter the Nature Center building and help them decide what exciting things to see and do during their visit.

Environmental Educators: Teach homeschool and summer classes, lead nature walks or host programs to educate visitors about the center's plants and wildlife.

Roving Docents: Our 900-acre center is like an outdoor museum. Hike around or spend time near the center building to educate visitors enjoying the exhibits and trails.

Program Creators: Work closely with Cumming Nature Center staff to come up with new program and activity ideas and help make them a reality. 

Ski/Snowshoe Rental and Lesson Assistants: Man the rental desk and help put away returned skis and snowshoes or lead ski and snowshoe lessons during the winter months.

Trail/Grounds Maintenance Crew: Clear trails of fallen trees/debris, fix benches and trail signs and walk the trails to ensure they are still in good shape all to keep the Cumming Nature Center beautiful and visitor-friendly.
