Connect from your classroom to explore an exhibit gallery with an RMSC educator. Our educator interacts with your students and guides them through the science behind exhibits in action. It is not all watching, though, as students also take part in hands-on discovery using experiment kits that are mailed to your classroom.
Experiment kits include the materials needed for a class of 30 students, and arrive at least one week before the scheduled connection. Kits include activities that can be done before, during, and after the actual connection to RMSC. They are meant to be kept up to one week after the connection so that your students can continue to discover.
Light Here | Light Now
Through videoconferencing, you and your class explore the world of optics including light, waves, energy and careers using materials mailed to your classroom. The official Optics Society of America classroom kit is included in these materials. Our museum educators facilitate your students' hands-on exploration of refraction on a laser table; learning about additive and subtractive primary colors with a portable color wall; working with early telescope designs; exploring fiber optics, and much more.
