All programs meet NY State Common Core in ELA and Mathematics & Learning Standards. Look for the coded standards associated with each exhibit or program.
Curriculum materials and curriculum links are provided for your use before, during, and after your visit. Ask for them when you schedule your visit or find them HERE.
We will work with you to accommodate your curricular needs.
Lots of Field Trip Experiences to Choose From:
Visits to Exhibitions (Self-Guided)
A self-guided experience does not include staff facilitation and thus is dependant on each teacher's planning and preparation. Use our Curriculum Materials to assist you in guiding your students.
Discovery Stations
Your students will rotate through 15-minute staff-led activities designed to provide students with a hands-on, interactive learning experience related to the exhibit, while still allowing them time for open exploration. Reservations required.

Guided Exhibition Experiences:
RMSC Education Department staff spark hands-on active exploration using artifacts and objects that are only available on guided exhibit explorations. They will work with you to highlight specific content to meet your curriculum goals.
Live Science Demonstrations
Add dimension to your field trip with a Live Science show. Visiting groups can now enhance their experience by scheduling an exciting science demonstration.
Hands-on in the Carlson Inquiry Room:
Centers-based programs facilitated by trained museum staff.
School Overnight Camp-Ins:
Spend a night at the museum with experiments facilitated by our RMSC Educators.
Homeschool Programs:
