Collections and Library Resources
The groundbreaking RMSC Online Catalog makes collections come alive!Engage your students with LOCAL primary sources. This innovative
presents images of objects coupled with text and photographs of these objects being used. For example, type in "cap of Rattlesnake Pete" as a search term and note how the results display an image of Rattlesnake Pete's cap from the RMSC collection, along with photos of Rattlesnake Pete wearing the cap. Click on any of the titles in the list to access more information about Pete and his Rochester-related activities.
Soon you and your students will also be just a click away from 2,000 images of objects and photographs from the RMSC's extensive Native American collections, as well as the spoken Seneca language.
Explore with colleagues how you can incorporate this LOCAL resource into your curriculum. Click on the Professional Development link to the left and look for workshops T126 and T129.
