2013 Full Day Summer Camps at the Cumming Nature Center for 6-15 Years Old

Camps run Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm. The camp day includes programs and activities in the Cumming Nature Center and on the trails.
Please bring a bag lunch, as lunch is not provided by the RMSC.
Bussing: The RMSC offers bussing for an addition cost of $25. Pre-registration is required.
- Check in for campers riding the bus is at the RMSC beginning at 8:15am.
- Check-in for campers not taking advantage of bussing is at the CNC Welcome Center lobby at 9am.
- Pick-up for campers riding the bus will be at the RMSC at 4:45pm.
Extended Care, a time of supervised but unstructured play, is staffed by our Youth Program staff, and is provided for campers at the RMSC from 4–5:30pm for an additional charge of $20 per child, per week. Registration required. NOTE: Extended Care is only available for camers dropped off or picked up at the RMSC campus, and is not available for campers onsite at the Cumming Nature Center.
Cost = $20 per child, per week (morning or afternoon).
Refund/Cancellation Policy:
- Full payment is required at registration (which includes $50 non-refundable processing fee for full-day camps and a $20 non-refundable processing fee for mini-camps and almost camps).
- $100 deposit is retained in the case of withdrawal from full-day camps after June 1st and up to two weeks before camp.
- NO REFUNDS given during the 10 business days before a camp.

Get into nature with us! Learn all about the terrestrial biomes and aquatic biomes of this region. Take a deep look into the forests: its types of trees, plants and animals. See how the climate of this region affects those plants and animals, and what you can do to conserve their habitats!

9-11 Year Olds
Wilderness Survival
Discover what it takes to survive in the wilderness. Construct outdoor shelters, build solar stills, light a fire with one match, learn about wild edibles and gain valuable orienteering techniques.

12-15 year Olds
Archaeology
Can you dig it? Learn about the world of archaeology. Explore what it takes to become an archaeologist and what it’s like in the field. Learn the history of the area once known as Frost Town. Dig at the foundations of some of the areas earliest settling pioneers. Gain hands-on experience planning an excavation, opening test units and collecting real artifacts!

Outdoor Adventures
Begin your camping experiences here! Learn all about the world of camping. Pitch a tent, gather wood, protect your food and find the perfect spots for camping. Hike the trails and fish in the pond. Gain skills while you experience the great outdoors.
