Dragonflies and Damselflies
Saturday, June 23—Friday, August 31, 2012
Photography Exhibit by
Stephen Diehl
Location: CNC Hurst Gallery
Vici Zaremba and Steve Diehl have been fascinated by dragonflies and damselflies for years. As volunteers for the now completed New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Natural Heritage Program survey, they spent thousands of hours surveying and photographing dragonflies and damselflies. Their work continues as founding members of the New York Odonate Group in coordination with New York Natural Heritage Program (NYNHP) and the Adirondack All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory.
The Dragonflies and Damselflies exhibition is a celebration of the almostmagical qualities of dragonflies, damselflies and their habitats. The prints capture the spectacular hues and amazing detail of these flying jewels that even existed more than 350 million years ago.
Steve is a photographic instructor at the Roche
ster Institute of Technology (RIT) and Vici serves as an environmental consultant and board member of the Indian River Lakes Conservancy in Redwood, New York.
On opening day:
Saturday, June 23
