Giant-screen films bring audiences on scientific adventures to space, through the dessert, underwater or among volcanoes. Audiences become inspired by cutting-edge science presented in star shows and mesmerized by dazzling laser lights accompanied by rock music during "Saturday Night Laser."

The Dragonflies and Damselflies exhibition is a celebration of the almost magical qualities of dragonflies, damselflies and their habitats. The prints capture the spectacular hues and amazing detail of these flying jewels that even existed more than 350 million years ago.

Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Strasenburgh Planetarium Star Theater will receive an expert update on the events that unfolded during the landing of the newest Mars rover, Curiosity, which is scheduled to land in the wee hours of the morning on August 6. In addition to any news or pictures the RMSC might have from Mars by then, the show will discuss the rover's technology and science instruments. With the use of the mighty star projector, attendees will also learn how to find Mars in the real sky this month.

 

Show presenter: Jeff Paradis, NASA Solar System Ambassador and physics teacher at Rush-Henrietta High School.

 

Show takes place at 11am on Monday, August 6
