7:30pm 'JAWS' Revisited: New insights into the ecology of the white shark in the North Atlantic Wednesday, February 5: 7:30pm There is strong evidence that white sharks have expanded their foraging strategies to include active predation on the North Atlantic gray seal off Cape Cod, Mass. For the first time, researchers have predictable access to white sharks. From 2009-2013, Skomal and the team tagged 39 white sharks off the coast of Cape Cod with coded acoustic transmitters and/or satellite-based tracking tags to examine movements, habitat use, site fidelity, residency and feeding behavior.
