ROCHESTER, NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Strasenburgh Planetarium follow five of the most unusual, lengthy, strenuous and amusing animal migrations anywhere during the giant-screen film, Amazing Journeys, opening at 3:15pm on Saturday, April 5.
Embarking on impressive treks across thousands of miles, the creatures featured in the film exemplify astonishing feats of stamina and perseverance in their efforts to ensure survival of their offspring. Audience members sit back under the 65-foot Planetarium dome and:
Marvel at hundreds of migrating zebras in the vast plains of East Africa.
Witness the mysterious migration of more than100 million red crabs on tiny Christmas Island.
Encounter majestic gray whales in the beautiful lagoons of Mexico's Baja California.
Enter a golden blizzard as tens of millions of monarch butterflies fill the sky in the hidden highlands of Mexico.
Take flight alongside migratory birds navigating by the sun, stars and instinct.
Travel back in time among exotic tribes of Africa to explore the roots of human migration.
Amazing Journeys is 45 minutes long and appears several times weekly. Visit www.rmsc.org for complete schedule. Amazing Journeys is recommended for all ages.
