Visitors Get Hands-on with Tiny Science and Technology During NanoDays at the Rochester Museum & Science Center
ROCHESTER, NY—The exploration of the very tiny science and technology changing our world becomes a hands-on reality for visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC). In celebration of NanoDays, families participate in activities and see demonstrations by experts as they explore the huge impact that the tiniest science and technology has on our future. NanoDays takes place from 11am through 4pm on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30.
Community members join RMSC staff and students from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to learn about the powerful small-scale science and technology, like the miniscule world of atoms, molecules and nanoscale forces, in a way that's fun, simple and easy to understand. NanoDays at the RMSC is part of a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering.
NanoDays is organized by the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net). This community-based event is a large public outreach effort in nanoscale informal science education that involves more than 200 science museums, research centers, and universities across the country from Puerto Rico to Hawaii. NanoDays engages people of all ages in learning about this emerging field of science, which holds the promise of developing revolutionary materials and technologies.
NanoDays is free with regular museum admission: $13 adults, $12 seniors and college students with ID, $11 ages 3 to 18, free for children under 3 and RMSC members. Check rmsc.org for more information.
Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) includes the Science Museum, Strasenburgh Planetarium, and Cumming Nature Center.
