ROCHESTER, NY—The Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) turns into a zoo this January during "Science Saturdays." Visitors meet live animals and learn about the needs of these important creatures. Details on January programs are included below:
Extreme Animal Adaptations
Saturday, January 11, 2014: 11am-3pm
The Wildlife Defenders are a wildlife education outreach group run by the program members of Bridges for Brain Injury Inc. Using live native and exotic species, the Wildlife Defenders provide interesting and stimulating information about the animal ambassadors. They also encourage environmental and wildlife conservation awareness. In addition, members share their personal injury and rehabilitation stories, and discuss the importance of safety and prevention practices.

"Science Saturdays" programs allow community members to dig their hands into science, meet local experts and discover science phenomena in a relaxed, conversational setting. "Science Saturdays" take place on selected Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays, throughout the year and are sponsored by Time Warner Cable. "Science Saturdays" cover a wide range of science and technology fields and are designed for family members to experience together.
Programs are, unless otherwise specified, free with regular Museum admission: $13 adults, $12 seniors and college students with ID, $11 ages 3 to 18, free for children under 3 and RMSC members. Admission to the Alien Worlds and Androids exhibition is also free with regular Museum admission. For group reservations and rates, call 585.697.1942.
