Child ID Technology Featured at Rochester Museum & Science Center November 16
ROCHESTER, NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC)
explore the safety benefits of child identification and have the opportunity to create their own child ID from 11am-3pm on Saturday, November 16. The event, which is part of the RMSC "Science Saturdays" program, is presented by New York Life Insurance Company.
Parents are provided with the opportunity to create identification materials for their children that may prove critical should an emergency occur. This includes wallet-sized photos and the child's fingerprints. Having the most up-to-date information and a good quality photo is one of the most important tools for law enforcement when searching for a missing child. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to have their ID created.
"Science Saturdays" programs allow community members to dig their hands into science, meet local experts and discover science phenomena in a relaxed, conversational setting. "Science Saturdays" take place on selected Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays, throughout the year and are sponsored by Time Warner Cable. "Science Saturdays" cover a wide range of science and technology fields and are designed for family members to experience together.
Programs are, unless otherwise specified, free with regular Museum admission: $13 adults, $12 seniors and college students with ID, $11 ages 3 to 18, free for children under 3 and RMSC members. Admission to the Alien Worlds and Androids exhibition is also free with regular Museum admission. For group reservations and rates, call 585.697.1942. Programs take place in the Museum unless otherwise specified. Check www.rmsc.org for updates.
