Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk Giant-Screen Film at Rochester Museum & Science Center Strasenburgh Planetarium
ROCHESTER, NY—Visitors' senses are flooded with the magnificence of the Grand Canyon in the latest giant-screen film at the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Strasenburgh Planetarium. Surrounded by a landscape with unique combinations of geologic color, audiences watching Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk discover the beauty of a world wonder and learn how ordinary people can make a difference for parched planet Earth. Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk opens at 4pm on Friday, October 11.
Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk combines exhilarating river-rafting action, the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, and family fun to tell an engaging story of people making a difference. Earth is running out of clean, fresh water so fast that the United Nations estimates that 40 percent of the world could face life-threatening shortages by 2050.
Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk is 50 minutes long and appears several times weekly. Visit www.rmsc.org for complete schedule. Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk is suitable for all ages. Robert Redford provides the narration of the film while Dave Matthews Band accompanies with music.
Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and college students with ID, $6 for children and teens (ages 3–18) and $3 for RMSC members. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at www.rmsc.org (online ticket purchases must be made at least 24 hours prior to the show), at the Museum Welcome Center (museum lobby) during regular business hours, or at the Planetarium Box Office. Giant-screen films are presented with open captioning on the screen on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with support from the Theatre Development Fund TAP Plus program, in cooperation with New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
