Talents Featured During Culture
and Community Sundays Program at
Rochester Museum & Science Center
ROCHESTER,
NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center
(RMSC) enjoy dance performances in Caribbean, Spanish, Irish and other styles as
well as Broadway quality singers during Culture
and Community Sundays programs in March. During this family-oriented
program, visitors celebrate diversity.
Taking
place on selected dates throughout the spring, Culture and Community Sundays features
cultural celebrations expressed through voice, dance and the spoken word. March
programs are detailed below:
Roc City Singers
March 3: 1–2pm
Location:
RMSC Patricia F. Hale Gallery
Roc City Singers is a premier group
of 20 singers and dancers, currently ranging in age from 15-25. Visitors enjoy
the triple threat talents of these young performers who are destined for
Broadway.
Borinquen Dance Theater
March 3: 2:30–3pm
Location:
Eisenhart Auditorium
Helping youth build the desire to
succeed through the discipline of dance, the Borinquen Dance Theatre provides
dance and cultural curriculum from the rich cultural heritage of the
peoples of the Caribbean, including the indigenous Taino Arawak Indian,
African, and Spanish traditions.
The Boland School of Irish Dance
March 10: 3–3:30pm and 4–4:30pm

RMSC Patricia F. Hale Gallery
Enjoy Irish culture through
Ireland's native dances and music. Students at The Boland School have
successfully competed at local, regional, national, and international venues,
bringing home hundreds of awards.
SALSEROS
March 24: 1–3pm
Location:
RMSC Patricia F. Hale Gallery
Experience Hispanic culture through
dance with the University of Rochester's Spanish and Latino American
Student Association.

This new program complements the RMSC's
traveling exhibition RACE: Are We So
Different? which explores the history, science and lived experience
of race. The exhibition is open now through April 28.
