the Beauty of Fall During Expert Guided Hikes at the Rochester Museum &
Science Center Cumming Nature Center
ROCHESTER,
NY—Two different fall walks at the Rochester Museum
& Science Center (RMSC) Cumming Nature Center (CNC) are sure to inspire
visitors of all ages to get outside and exercise while uncovering the wonders
of the outdoors. Visitors to have the opportunity to walk with experts. Walks include:
SENIOR
SOJOURN (Easy Pace)
9:30–10:30am: Wednesday, October 10
Experience the beauty of fall at with Shariee Edersheim. "Mrs. E" takes
attendees on an informative, and easy, hour-long walk to marvel at the
spectacular sights and sounds of fall. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch.
Program fee: Free for RMSC members; $3
per person and $10 per family is requested for the general public.
SERENDIPITY WALK (Moderate Pace)
9:30–11:30am: Saturdays, October 20 and November 3
Explore the wilderness! Edersheim takes attendees on a guided walk to areas of
CNC typically not accessible to the public. Attendees will experience different
types of terrain, including wet areas, so wearing proper footgear is
encouraged. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch.
Program fee: Free for RMSC members; $3
per person and $10 per family is requested for the general public.
Shariee
Edersheim (Mrs. "E") serves as a senior naturalist at the
RMSC Cumming Nature Center. Edersheim was the lead interpreter at CNC in
the 1980s and early 1990s. Edersheim leads several walks including senior
sojourn, serendipity walk, among others.
CNC trails are open from 9am–3:30pm, Wednesday–Friday and
9am–4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday. The CNC is closed on Columbus Day, Monday,
October 8. The CNC's last day open for the season is Sunday, November 11. For directions to the CNC, visit www.rmsc.org or call (585)374-6160.
