Science Center Meet Hollywood Blockbuster Movie Sculptor

WHAT:
Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center
(RMSC) have the opportunity to Skype with Duncan Crawford, 3-D sculptor for
blockbuster movies including Thor, Super 8, Green Lantern, Pirates of the
Caribbean and The Avengers. This is
part of the RMSC's "3-D Technology Expo" taking place from August 18-26. Crawford will discuss the steps that led him into the
business, sculpting materials he uses, and process a movie set goes through
before the cameras roll. In addition, Crawford will show images of the
work he has done on various films and share fascinating stories. In a Q&A
session, visitors get their
questions answered by Crawford himself. Crawford is currently
working on the Disney film Oz The Great and Powerful starring James
Franco.
WHO: Duncan Crawford, Hollywood
sculptor and Rochester native who has worked on some of the biggest
blockbusters in movie history. Graduated from Nazareth College;
Volunteers and community members; Staff is available for interviews.

ADMISSION:
Free with
regular Museum admission: $12 adults, $11 seniors and college students with ID,
$10 ages 3 to 18, free for children under 3 and RMSC members.
