Family Rain Barrel
Workshop at RMSC Explores a Simple Way to Conserve Water
ROCHESTER,
NY—Family Rain Barrel Workshop courses at the Rochester Museum & Science
Center (RMSC) continue into July. Community members are invited to sign up to
learn about the benefits of using rain barrels, and create their own rain
barrel to take home. Class participants are likely to see a decrease in their
water bill after installing their simple rain barrel.
Family
Rain Barrel Workshops take place:
- Saturday, July 21: 10am-12pm,
course #F1015
- Saturday, July 21: 1-3pm,
course #F1016
Workshops
are $25 per family, and pre-registration is required. Community members should
call (585)697-1942.
Water usage increases by approximately 30 percent in the
summer months due to watering gardens, filling pools, etc. Rain barrels are a
great way to challenge that percentage and maintain a cost-effective process.
Rochester
Museum & Science Center (RMSC) receives major funding from Monroe County.
RMSC includes a planetarium, nature center and science/regional history museum.
The Rochester Museum & Science Center stimulates broad community interest
and understanding of science and technology, and their impact—past, present,
future—on our lives. For more information about RMSC, visit www.rmsc.org. Find us on Facebook
