"Identification
Series" Explores Woodland Wildflowers, Trees and Ferns at Rochester Museum
& Science Center Cumming Nature Center
ROCHESTER,
NY—Uncover the wonders of the
outdoors during a new three-part journey at the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Cumming
Nature Center (CNC) called "Identification Series." The series is
expert-guided, covers three different nature topics and takes place throughout
the summer.
Shairee Edersheim, a senior naturalist,
guides visitors into the wonderful world of wildflowers, trees and ferns.
Edersheim also provides a brief explanation of the use of field guides. The
series takes place on Wednesdays from 10am–12pm.
Specific dates and topics are below:
- June 13—Topic: Woodland
Wildflowers
- July 11—Topic: Trees
- August 22—Topic: Ferns
The program is free for RMSC members. A $3 per person or $10
per family charge is requested for the general public.
Shairee
Edersheim
was the lead interpreter at CNC in the 1980s and early 1990s.
CNC trails are open from 9am–3:30pm, Wednesday–Friday and
9am–4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday. Trails are open from 9am–4:30pm on Independence
