Rochester Museum &
Science Center Women's Council Garden Tour Takes Attendees Through Six Local
Home Gardens
ROCHESTER,
NY—The Women's
Council, a volunteer service organization that
supports the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC), presents its third annual garden tour. A tour of six spectacular local gardens takes place from 10am to
4pm on Saturday, June 23, rain or shine.
Attendees
experience a variety of beautiful gardens. Savor the serenity of Jean Cannan's
garden with koi ponds and a variety of flowers including lilacs, black-eyed Susans
and roses on Kilbourn Road in Rochester. Explore the whimsical garden of the
Fox family in Pittsford, which is inspired by international travel with the
Japanese maple trees and the several unique "garden rooms." The peace of the
shaded, shared gardens of the Colagrosso's and Henderson's in Henrietta unites
neighbors. Explore Ian Cunningham's unique combination of plants and trees
that create the mathematical sequence, "Pi," in Rochester. Discover the
exquisite property of the Bates-Ryder house with the parterre, perennial and
"Secret Garden," among other exceptional gardens on historic East Avenue in
Rochester.
Gardens can be visited in any order. A
silent auction of garden-inspired artwork is available at the Fox garden, while
water and cookies are available at the Colagrosso and Cunningham gardens.
Tickets are
$18 in advance and $20 at any of the gardens on the day of the tour, and the
garden addresses are listed on each ticket. Tickets are available at the RMSC,
Parkleigh Pharmacy in Rochester, Possibilities in Fairport, Kittelberger
Florist in Webster, Genrich's Garden Center in Irondequoit, Renaissance Goodie
II Shoppe in Canandaigua, Eleventh Hour Gift Shop in Brighton, Blanchard
Florist in Greece, Gallea's Greenhouse in Pittsford, Gro-Moore Farm Market
& Garden Center in Henrietta and Arena's Florist in Rochester.
