Explore the Power of Robotics During
"Science Saturdays" at Rochester Museum & Science Center
ROCHESTER,
NY—The Spencerport FIRST (For
Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Team 3015 inspires visitors to
get hands-on with robotics at the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC).
The program is part of the RMSC "Science Saturdays" program—where entire
families and community members of all ages can experience the excitement of
science through hands-on interaction and tips from the experts. The program
takes place from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, May 12.
During
the program, called "FIRST Robotics Showcase," visitors
meet the team members and see this year's robot, which was the
second place entry at the 2012 FIRST Robotics Game Rebound Rumble. Visitors
also learn more about the FIRST LEGO League and how it combines technology,
engineering, cooperation, and hard work to create a robot that is built entirely
by student and mentor participants.
"Science
Saturdays" programs allow community members to dig their hands into science,
meet local experts and discover science phenomenon's in a relaxed,
conversational setting. "Science Saturdays" take place on selected Saturdays
throughout the year and are sponsored by Time Warner Cable. "Science Saturdays"
cover a wide range of science and technology fields and are designed for family
members to experience together.
Programs are, unless otherwise specified,
free with regular Museum admission: $12 adults, $11 seniors and college
students with ID, $10 ages 3 to 18, free for children under 3 and RMSC members.
