Explore "Our Extreme
Planet" During April Break Week at Rochester Museum & Science Center
ROCHESTER,
NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) get up-close
with some of the most powerful forces of nature during its April break week
program called "Our Extreme Planet." Exciting events with many hands-on
activities take place from 12pm until 4pm on Saturday, April 7 through Sunday,
April 15.
Visitors
are invited to:

Team
up with YNN meteorologist Brooke Zegarelli for hands-on weather activities from 12–2pm on Monday, April 9 and Tuesday,
April 10, and from 2–4pm on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15.
·
Become
a home meteorologist using some easy tools of the trade.
·
Create
a weather broadcast in the Discover
Our Weather exhibit in RMSC's Adventure
Zone.
·
Build
a structure to withstand earthquakes!
·
See
the Ring of Fire RMSC Strasenburgh
Planetarium giant-screen film.
·
Brave
the Volcano Mine Ride simulator ($1 per rider).
Visitors
are also invited to experience Extreme
Mammals: The Biggest, Smallest, and Most Amazing Mammals of All Time in the
Riedman Gallery, which closes April 15. Featuring
spectacular specimens from New York City's American Museum of Natural History,
the exhibition examines the ancestry and evolution of numerous species through
fossils, skeletons, vivid mammal reconstructions as well as objects from
Rochester Museum & Science Center collections. Species range from huge to
tiny, from speedy to sloth-like, and display characteristics such as oversized
claws, fangs, snouts and horns.
Programs
are free, unless otherwise specified, with regular Museum admission: $12
adults, $11 seniors and college students with ID, $10 ages 3 to 18, free for
children under 3 and RMSC members. Museum admission with Extreme Mammals: The Biggest, Smallest, and Most Amazing Mammals of All
Time is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors/college students with ID, $13 for
ages 3–18, $3 for RMSC members, and free for children under 3. For group reservations and rates, call (585)697-1942. Programs take
