First Animated Giant-Screen Film "Fly
Me to the Moon" Opens at Rochester
Museum & Science Center Strasenburgh Planetarium
ROCHESTER, NY—Fly Me to the Moon, the
first animated giant-screen film at the Rochester Museum & Science Center
(RMSC) Strasenburgh Planetarium, combines the Apollo 11 mission with a
whimsical twist involving three flies who go along on an incredible space
adventure. The film opens at 4pm on Friday, April 6.
Through this film, new generations
are introduced to space exploration and the historic moment when the world was
united for this awe-inspiring achievement. A G-rated family film, the story is
voiced by talents Kelly Ripa, Christopher Lloyd, Nicollette Sheridan, Tim Curry
and a live action/animation cameo by real life Apollo 11 astronaut "Buzz"
Aldrin.
Apollo 11 was the spaceflight which landed the first humans, Mission
Commander Neil Armstrong and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin E. "Buzz" Aldrin Jr. on
the Earth's Moon on July 20, 1969. The launch took place at Kennedy Space
