RMSC Strasenburgh
Planetarium Becomes a Rock/Disco Laser Experience Saturday Nights Throughout
March
ROCHESTER,
NY—Musical hits from the 70s accompany brilliant laser lights at the Rochester Museum
& Science Center (RMSC) Strasenburgh Planetarium during 70s Laser. Shows take place each
Saturday evening in March starting at 9:30pm and last approximately 50 minutes.
70s
Laser features a range
of songs and artists including "Go Your Own Way," Fleetwood Mac; "Rocket Man," Elton
John; "Fly Like An Eagle," Steve Miller Band; "Popcorn," Hot Butter, and "Draggin'
the Line," Tommy James. Also, a lively medley of classic favorites fill the
dome, and includes a mix of tunes like "Macho Man," Village People; "Night
Fever," Bee Gees, and "Disco Inferno," The Trammps.
Immersive video and luminous argon and
krypton laser light effects splash across the Planetarium indoor-sky,
heightening the experience with sight and sound. Audiences lose themselves in
an exciting virtual environment, following colorful light movements that
perfectly match the music. A six-channel digital sound system amplifies the
sound. "Saturday Night Laser" show themes change
monthly.
Admission is $7 for adults and $6 for seniors,
college students, students ages 5–18 and RMSC members. Children under age five are not admitted to "Saturday Night Laser"
shows.
