stories of courageous African Americans who traveled through Rochester on their
way from slavery to freedom. Find out about local people who helped them.
At the Western Door
The
hundreds of objects displayed show the Seneca's and Haudenosaunee's creative
response to new technologies and materials introduced following European contact.
Clan and family continue to bind communities together and define who the Seneca
and Haudenosaunee are.
The Rochester Business Hall of Fame – Presented by the
RMSC in partnership with Junior Achievement of Rochester and the Rochester

relaxed, enjoyable family show presents prominent constellations and takes the
audience on a quick trip to the moon. See what Earth looks like from a quarter
million miles away, and return home in time for sunrise.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND SNOWSHOEING (weather permitting)

Outdoor enthusiasts can now enjoy our new
Bluebird Trail as well as15 miles of groomed ski trails; A 3-mile loop for
snowshoeing (New extended trail!)
Equipment rentals available: Ski package
(skis, poles and shoes): $15 per day; Snowshoes, $5 per day
Volunteers from the Genesee Valley Nordic Ski
Patrol monitor the ski trails on weekends throughout the season.
NOTE: Hiking trails
available if there's not enough snow to ski!
34th
ANNUAL MAPLE SUGARING
Saturday and
Sunday March 17-18 and March 24-25
A springtime tradition for
many Western New York families, Maple Sugaring explores the science and lore of
maple syrup production with volunteer guides along the Pioneer Trail. Learn how
a tree makes sap and discover the different processing techniques of Native
Americans, early pioneers, and today's modern sugar bush managers. Highlights
include a 100 percent pure maple syrup tasting in the sugarhouse, and a pancake
meal in the visitors center.

Pancake Meal Cost (includes
nature center admission):
- Adult meal (5 pancakes +
2 sausages): $10; RMSC members $9
- Child meal (3 pancakes +

beverage.
Program admission without the pancake meal is $3 per
person ($10 per family).

Dale M. Volker provides funding for maintenance of Cumming Nature Center's
trails.
Rochester Museum &
