feature live animals and hands-on activities
ROCHESTER,
NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) come
face-to-face with live animals and explore their extreme adaptations during our
February break week program called "Discover the Extreme Animal Kingdom—It's
Alive!" Exciting events take place each day from 12pm until 4pm on Saturday,
February 18 through Sunday, February 26.
This
year's program features animals of all shapes and sizes, and community members
have the opportunity to explore these amazing creatures as well as try to measure up against some outstanding animal records.
Visitors can expect to meet different animals each day. Animals are safely brought
in by several different organizations, with the exception of one
videoconference meet. The full schedule is detailed below:

Visitors
are also invited to experience Extreme Mammals:
The Biggest, Smallest, and Most Amazing Mammals of All Time in the Riedman
Gallery. Featuring spectacular specimens from New York
City's American Museum of Natural History, the exhibition examines the ancestry
and evolution of numerous species through fossils, skeletons, vivid mammal
reconstructions as well as objects from Rochester Museum & Science Center
collections. Species range from huge to tiny, from speedy to sloth-like, and
display characteristics such as oversized claws, fangs, snouts and horns. Extreme Mammals is available to
experience at the RMSC through April 15.
Programs
are free, unless otherwise specified, with regular Museum admission: $12
adults, $11 seniors and college students with ID, $10 ages 3 to 18, free for
children under 3 and RMSC members. Museum admission with Extreme Mammals: The Biggest, Smallest, and Most Amazing Mammals of All
Time is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors/college students with ID, $13 for
ages 3–18, $3 for RMSC members, and free for children under 3. For group reservations and rates, call (585)697-1942. Programs take
