ROCHESTER,
NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) this January
will meet live animals, learn about their tracks, explore the affects of severe
space weather and discover the science of flight during "Science Saturdays" programs.
"Science Saturdays" programs are designed for entire families and
age levels to experience the excitement of science together. Details on
upcoming January programs include:
Wegmans ZooMobile
Saturday, January 7: 12pm – 2pm
Presenter: Seneca Park Zoo Society
Come
meet animals from the Wegmans ZooMobile! Get up close and personal with live
animals from the zoo.
Severe
Space Weather Storms

RIT professor Roger Dube helps visitors investigate the
impact of the largest solar storm in history and what affect that storm would
have today.

Every
animal leaves tracks and sign behind them that can tell a story about who they
are and what they did. Come join the Animal Teachers and Anne Meade to learn a
little about tracks and the animals who made them.

amazing demonstrations of rubber-band-powered model airplanes for indoor and
outdoor flight.
"We are kicking off
the new year with a great line-up of programs," said
Dan Winklebleck, public programs supervisor, RMSC. "Anne Meade is really engaging. She encourages
the animals to be the teachers, and she has the ability to create a unique,
personal experience regardless of the size of the audience. We're pleased with
all of our exciting programs."
"Science
Saturdays" programs allow community members to dig their hands into science,
meet local experts and discover science phenomenon's in a relaxed,
conversational setting. "Science Saturdays" take place on selected Saturdays
throughout the year and are sponsored by Time Warner Cable. "Science Saturdays"
cover a wide range of science and technology fields and are designed for family
members to experience together.
Programs
are, unless otherwise specified, free with regular Museum admission: $12
adults, $11 seniors and college students with ID, $10 ages 3 to 18, free for
children under 3 and RMSC members. Museum admission with Extreme Mammals: The Biggest, Smallest, and Most Amazing Mammals of All
Time is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors/college students with ID, $13 for
ages 3–18, $3 for RMSC members, and free for children under 3. For group reservations and rates, call (585)697-1942. Programs take
